Select an element to change its type. 
 Use the Type Selector to swap the family type assigned to one or more selected elements. 
 
  Note:  Multiple element selections must be of the same category. 
  
 
 
For example: 
-  Walls: During schematic design, use generic walls to plan the layout. During design development, change the walls to specific types to provide more detailed information. 
  
 
-  Text: To use a different font in text notes, swap the family type. 
  
 
-  Symbols: Change the symbol used for elevations. 
  
 
 
   
To change the family type assigned to elements 
- Select one or more elements. 
  
 
- On the Properties Palette, use the Type Selector to select the desired type. If the type is not listed, 
	 load the family first. 
  
 
 
When you select a new type, all selected elements change to that type. 
If you need to change parameters of the selected type, click Edit Type on the Properties palette.
