Configure Vault Connector mapping

Configure property mappings between Vault and Fusion Manage to define how data synchronizes between systems. This task requires administrator permissions in both Vault and Fusion Manage.

Property mapping determines which Vault Item properties synchronize to Fusion Manage workspace fields. Before configuring mappings, ensure that the Vault Connector is enabled in ADMS Console and that you have the required permissions in both systems. You need Vault Option Set/Get permission in Vault and Read/Write permissions to the Fusion Manage workspace.

  1. Open the Vault Settings in the Vault client:

In the Vault client, go to Tools > Administration > Vault Settings.

The Vault Setting dialog box displays.

  2. Access the Vault Connector Mapping configuration:

    • Click the Collaborate tab inside the Vault Setting window

    • Click Configure under the Vault Connector Management section

If you are not logged in using Autodesk ID, a sign-in prompt displays.

  3. Sign in with appropriate credentials:

Enter your Autodesk ID credentials that have the required permissions in both Vault and Fusion Manage.

The Vault Connector Mapping dialog box displays after successful authentication.

  4. Specify the Fusion Manage tenant and workspace:

    • Enter the Fusion Manage tenant URL in the format: https://companyname.autodeskplm360.net/

    • Select the workspace from the Vault Items map to dropdown list

Use the default Items workspace or a clone of the Items workspace. The connector is designed to work with the Items workspace structure.

  5. Verify workspace properties:

The connector setup checks for required properties in the selected workspace.

If required properties are missing, error messages display with details about which properties need to be added. For tenants created before July 28, 2025, you may need to add PDM properties manually.

  6. Add required properties to Fusion Manage workspace (if needed):

If error messages indicate missing properties, add the following to your Fusion Manage workspace:

    • All properties with prefix "PDM_" (PDM_Item_Number, PDM_Title, PDM_Description, PDM_Lifecycle_State, PDM_Revision, PDM_Category): Add to Items Details tab with data type Single line text, Length: 50, Display: 50, Visibility: Never, Editable: True. Move these properties under the PDM Data subsection.

    • Image property: Add to Items Details tab with data type Image, move to Basic subsection.

    • Source field: Add to BOM tab with data type Single line text, Length: 50, Display: 50, Visible and Editable. Move to Basic BOM views section.

For cloned workspaces, verify that the Workspace Relationship > BOM Tab allows your workspace to build BOMs correctly.

  7. Map properties between Vault and Fusion Manage:

    • Select matching properties from the dropdown lists for both Vault and Fusion Manage

    • Pay attention to property types to avoid incompatibility

    • When you select a property on the Vault side, the Fusion Manage list filters to show only compatible properties

Alternatively, click Use Default to load the out-of-the-box property mapping as a starting point. You can add or remove mappings from this initial list as needed.

  8. Save the mapping configuration:

    • Click Apply to save the mappings

    • Click OK to exit the dialog box

The property mappings are saved and will be used for all subsequent Item synchronizations.

After configuring the property mappings, users can begin synchronizing Items from Vault to Fusion Manage using either on-demand or automated synchronization methods.
