DemandWatch Configuration

The DemandWatch Configuration object is used to select and configure feeds to be used for forecast runs on the IWLive Pro server. Feeds can be trained and verified in bulk or individually and model parameters can be viewed and edited using the DemandWatch Configuration property sheet. A DemandWatch Configuration object uses the telemetry feeds from the Live Data Configuration to import and export data. Data is imported to train and verify the model, and for short term prediction. Forecast data can be exported to an export feed.

Creating a DemandWatch Configuration object

A new, blank DemandWatch configuration object can be created at any time.

To create a new DemandWatch configuration object in InfoWorks WS Pro:

1. In the Explorer Window or Model Window, right click a model group.
2. Select New | DemandWatch Configuration from the context menu.
3. The New Object Naming dialog is displayed. Type a name for the DemandWatch configuration object and click OK.

The new DemandWatch configuration object will be checked out when created.

Editing a DemandWatch Configuration object

A new, blank DemandWatch configuration object can be created at any time. See the Managing Version Controlled Items section for further information. However, DemandWatch configuration objects are slightly different from other version controlled items in that they can be enabled. Enabling a DemandWatch configuration object results in the IWLive Pro server automatically performing the two following operations:

• Running of forecasts for the feeds in the DemandWatch Configuration object
• Writing of forecast results to the export feed.

Some fields can be edited on checked-in DemandWatch configuration objects to allow users to make minor and frequent changes without having to check them out or create new ones. The rules are detailed below:

• No fields can be edited on a checked-in and enabled DemandWatch configuration object.
• Certain fields such as DemandWatch Schedule fields of the Schedule tab can be edited for a checked-in but not enabled DemandWatch configuration object:
• All fields can be edited on a checked-out DemandWatch configuration object.

DemandWatch configuration data is viewed and edited in the DemandWatch Configuration Property Sheet.

To open the property sheet for editing, either drag the DemandWatch configuration object from the Explorer Window or Model Window into the main window background, or right click the DemandWatch configuration and select Open from the context menu.

Deleting a DemandWatch Configuration object

It is possible to delete a DemandWatch configuration object in InfoWorks WS Pro. To delete a DemandWatch configuration object, right-click it and selecting Delete from the popup menu.

DemandWatch configuration objects of the following statuses cannot be deleted:

• Checked out
• With children
