To Attach an Xref to a Drawing Stored on the Internet

1. Click View tab Palettes panel External References Palette. Find
2. On the External References palette, on the toolbar along the top, click the Attach Reference drop-down menu and choose Attach DWG.
3. In the Select Reference File dialog box, in the File Name text box, enter the URL to the file that you want to attach.

   You must include the transfer protocol (for example, https:// or ftp://) in the URL.

   If the site requires a user name and password, you are prompted to enter this information.

4. Click Open.
5. In the Attach External Reference dialog box, specify the desired settings and click OK.
6. Follow any prompts displayed at the command line.
