Outflows Tab (Pond Properties Dialog Box)

Use the Outflows tab to review read-only information around the pipes and structures connected to the pond.

Outgoing Connections

Pipes

Name

Displays the name of the connected pipe.

Description

Displays the description of the connected pipe.

Size

Specifies the inner diameter for the connected pipe.

Invert Elevation

Specifies the elevation at the bottom of the inside surface of the connected pipe.

Centerline Elevation

Specifies the centerline elevation of the connected pipe.

Crown Elevation

Specifies the crown elevation of the connected pipe.

Slope

Specifies the slope of the pipe coming out of the connected pipe.

End Object

Displays the name of the pipe or structure at the end of the connected pipe.

Channels

Name

Displays the name of the connected channel.

Description

Displays the description of the connected channel.

Elevation

Displays the elevation of the connected channel.

Section Type

Displays the section shape type of the connected channel.

End Object

Displays the name of the pipe or structure at the end of the connected channel.

Outlets tab

The Outlets section displays outlet structure information.

Use the and buttons to add and remove outflow objects to your drainage system.

Name

Displays the name of the outlet.

Outgoing Connection

Displays the name of the pipe or structure connected to the outlet.

Outlet Type
Specifies the name of the outlet type. Either Free discharge, Weir, or Orifice. Weir and Orifice have the following parameters edited by clicking Parameter Settings . In the Parameter Settings dialog box, specify:
  • Diameter. Specifies the inner diameter of the outlet.
  • Coefficient of Discharge. Specifies the ratio of the outlet discharge to the ideal discharge for the drainage system.
  • Invert Elevation. Specifies the elevation at the bottom of the inside surface of the outlet.

Infiltration tab

Infiltration is the process by which surface water enters the soil. This crucial role of replenishing groundwater is part of the hydrological cycle which also reduces runoff and maintains soil moisture.

Infiltration

Enables the infiltration process.

Infiltration Rate

Specifies what infiltration to consider. Either Bottom and side, Bottom, or Side.

Bottom Infiltration Rate

Defines the rate of infiltration through the bottom of the filter area. This should be determined by a performance site test.

Side Infiltration Rate

Defines the rate of infiltration through the sides of the filter area. This should be determined by a performance site test.

Safety Factor

Specifies a reduction in infiltration rate to account for silting or poor maintenance.
