When exporting file sequences or publishing content as OpenEXR, the available metadata is written to the OpenEXR file header. Metadata is not written to other media formats such as QuickTime, MP4, etc.
Metadata keys can be modified or discarded before exporting the content using the Pre-Processing menu or the Source Metadata Timeline FX in the Timeline environment, or the Clip, Metadata, and Write File nodes in the Batch environment.
When a clip is exported, if two keys have the same name, the first added key is the one exported. At the end of the export, a dialog window appears indicating that some frames had duplicated keys.
This situation occurs when a key that is not present on all frames is manually added to a frame where it was previously absent.
When exporting content as OpenEXR using the Link Media option, if the metadata of the content has been modified, it is not possible to link to the original media files, and new files are generated with the edited metadata.
When using the Sequence Publish export mode, it is possible to define the source of the metadata used to generate the resulting OpenEXR media file from the Media option. In the Sequence Options of the Sequence Publish Export dialog:
| Select: | To: |
|---|---|
| Use Original Media | Use the original metadata of the content. If a Source Metadata Timeline FX is applied on the segments, this metadata is ignored. |
| Use Media with FX | Use the metadata of the Source Metadata Timeline FX applied on the segments, if any. |
The versioning options available in the shot publish presets match those available in a Write File node, making it possible to set the Write File node in a Batch setup created during publishing to Follow Iteration.
Support for PixSpan-encoded media files has been removed.
