When importing clips in the following media formats, all metadata attributes, including Cooke lens data protocol and frame-based metadata, are available in the application:
The following formats do not provide extended metadata:
The metadata of the following camera formats is managed the same way as the transcoded OpenEXR files generated by the manufacturer's transcoding application. This means the naming convention for the various metadata keys and values are expressed the same way between the original camera files and transcoded media files, making the metadata management predictable:
The MediaHub's Preview panel allows viewing the metadata of the currently selected clip under the Metadata tab. The Attributes section shows the list of the metadata keys and their values.
When caching media, the cached media contains the metadata of the source content. This applies to high resolution and proxy media.
The Metadata menu of the Pre-Processing options allows modifications to the various metadata keys and values of the content. These metadata keys can then be embedded in exported or published content (when using the Use Original Media option). This metadata can also be connected to the Source Metadata Timeline FX for further modifications. However, since the Publish Use Original Media option uses the content from the Pre-Processing editor under the Timeline FX, it is recommended to make any metadata modifications from the Pre-Processing editor for this workflow.
If the content has been cached, any modification made to the metadata automatically triggers a re-cache when exiting the Pre-Processing editor.
It is not possible to edit metadata of content in the Pre-Processing editor using the Python API. The metadata keys in this menu can only be edited through the user interface or by using Open Clip. Note that once metadata keys are edited in an Open Clip, they can no longer be modified from the user interface.
In the Format menu, the Metadata tab has been renamed Format Info and shows the general information about the current clip. In previous versions, this section also contained the Attributes, which listed the various metadata fields. These fields are now shown in the Metadata menu.
OpenEXR reserved metadata keys are shown as Read-Only in the Metadata list, in the Status column, since they will be written with the encoder parameters when generating new OpenEXR media files. The following attributes are read-only:
