Opening an Event

To open an Event

1. In the Explorer window, right-click on the event.
2. Select Open from the popup menu.

Alternatively, double click on the event in the Explorer window or drag the event into the background outside the Explorer window.

The program opens the appropriate editor for the type of event selected. For details of the editors, see:

• Event Editor (Inflow, Level, Pollutograph and SWMM Pollutograph, and, for InfoWorks networks only, Ground Infiltration)
• Rainfall Event Editor (observed Rainfall)
• Design Rainfall Generator (design Rainfall)
• Wastewater Profile Editor (Trade Waste, Waste Water - InfoWorks networks only)

Viewing Events Graphically

Observed Rainfall, Inflow, Level, Ground Infiltration, Pollutograph and SWMM Pollutograph events can be opened either in the grid editor or as a graph:

1. In the Explorer window, right-click on the event.
2. Select Open As from the popup menu, choose from the available options and click OK:
   • Editor - opens the Event Editor
   • Graph - opens a graphical representation of the event data. For rainfall data:
     • If the event contains only rainfall profiles, a list of rainfall profiles will be displayed. Select the profile to be graphed and click OK. The hydrograph will be displayed in a graph view. Use this method for displaying a graph of observed or design rainfall.
     • If the event also contains profiles other than rainfall (wind, temperature, evaporation), a list of profile types will be displayed. Select the profile type and the profile to be graphed.

Waste Water and Trade Waste event profile multipliers are displayed while editing the events. Open the event normally and then select the multipliers to view on the Profile Page of the Wastewater Profile Editor.

Design Rainfall Events

Design rainfall events are opened by default in the Design Rainfall Generator Dialog. To edit the initial conditions for the event it must be opened in the Rainfall Event Editor. Right click, choose Open As and select Grid Editor (read only) from the list. The rainfall hyetograph will be read-only but initial conditions can be edited as long as the event has not been used in a simulation.

To choose the way in which a design rainfall event is opened

1. In the Explorer window, right-click on the rainfall event.
2. Select Open As from the popup menu, choose from the available options and click OK:
   • Dialog Editor - opens the Rainfall Generator Dialog
   • Grid Editor (TVD read-only) - opens the Rainfall Event Editor with read-only rainfall hyetograph

   • Graph - opens a graphical representation of the event data

     If the event contains multiple rainfall profiles, a list of rainfall profiles will be displayed. Select the profile to be graphed and click OK. (For FEH/ReFH design rainfall, if the event contains multiple catchments, a list of catchments will be displayed. Select one or more catchments to be graphed and click OK.) The hydrograph(s) will be displayed in a graph view.
