Autodesk Projects (Tech Preview)

Note: InfoDrainage 2027.2 includes a technology preview of a new Autodesk Projects feature. What is a Tech Preview?

This feature allows you to use Forma Data Management with InfoDrainage to collaborate with team members on projects.

Forma Data Management is a cloud-based data management system. Files are stored within Projects, which group and store project files for easy retrieval. With Forma Data Management, you get secure access, version control, and easy collaboration.

The Autodesk Projects feature in InfoDrainage enables you to open and save InfoDrainage models directly from cloud projects, provided that you already have a Forma Data Management license. This integration allows you to work with centrally managed project files alongside your existing local workflows.

In order to use this feature, you must be assigned to a hub and project by the team administrator. Refer to Create Autodesk Forma Hubs and Projects.

Note: This feature is behind a feature flag. To activate, refer to the Activate Autodesk Projects section below.

To access this feature, go to the File ribbon and select Autodesk Projects.

This allows you to open projects using the following options:

• Open from a Project - Opens the Autodesk Projects dialog, which allows you to select and open projects in the cloud.
• Upload to a Project - Allows you to select InfoDrainage (*.iddx) files in your local folder and upload them in the cloud.

Activate Autodesk Projects

This functionality can be accessed by setting the following feature flag in your local user settings file.

Note: To activate this feature, you must have a Forma Data Management Essentials license.

1. Open Windows File Explorer > View > Show/Hide Panel > Select 'Hidden Items'.
2. Navigate to AppData in Windows Explorer.

   Local Disk (:C) > Users > "Select user name" > Appdata > Roaming > Innovyze > InfoDrainage

3. Open InfoDrainage.XML file in the directory.
4. Paste in the following below <UserSettings>:

   <InfoDrainage Key="EnableFDM" Value="True" />

5. Save the file.
6. Open InfoDrainage.

Forma Data Management associates people, projects, and data. A Forma Data Management project is a unique location where a team keeps all related information in one shared place.

For simple collaboration with cloud models in InfoDrainage, you must have a license to Forma Data Management.
