About Autodesk Assistant in Moldflow

Autodesk Assistant is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) partner for Design and Make that helps you get quick answers, explore your work, and speed up repetitive tasks. In Moldflow, Autodesk Assistant answers questions, helps interpret results, and performs a limited set of tasks.

Note: Autodesk Assistant in Moldflow may not be available in all countries.

Autodesk Assistant agentic capabilities

Autodesk Assistant's agentic capabilities provide additional levels of assistance, letting you ask Autodesk Assistant to do things for you, using natural language. For example, you can ask it to:

Open studies,
Switch to different results,
Show key machine information,
Show key material information,
Show all results in tabular format.

Access Autodesk Assistant in Moldflow

To open Autodesk Assistant in Moldflow:

At the top of the Moldflow window, on the right side of the Application bar, click Autodesk Assistant.

The Assistant panel appears docked on the right side of the canvas and remains available as you work.

To close Autodesk Assistant:

Click Close on the bottom right of the Autodesk Assistant panel.

Chatting with Autodesk Assistant

Ask Autodesk Assistant how to complete tasks, learn about features and terminology, find where tools are located, or troubleshoot issues.

Examples:

"How do I reduce my clamp force?",
"What causes excessive cycle time and how can I reduce it?",
"How do I improve weld line quality?",
"Where can I find the Histogram plot?".

Tips for better results:

Reference Browser items: Mention specific components or features visible in your Browser.
- For example: "Hide all layers except Top Inner Plastic Shell - Part Tetras".
Be specific about context: If the answer isn't what you expect, add more specifics to give the Assistant context.

Discovering what Autodesk Assistant can do

Autodesk Assistant can perform actions to help you run analyses, visualize and understand results, and explore next steps to improve them. Autodesk Assistant capabilities will evolve over time and the responses will adapt:

Ask Assistant about its capabilities to discover how it can help you:

"What can you do?",
"Can you help me understand what this result means?",
"Can you tell me what my options are to improve my design?",
"What can you do to help me with my results?".

Getting the most from Autodesk Assistant in Moldflow

In addition to the general best practices described in Autodesk Assistant limitations and best practices, keep these Moldflow-specific tips in mind:

Specify the output format

Autodesk Assistant allows you to specify the format of the returned output:

"In 500 words ....",
"In a paragraph describe ....",
"List the top 10 ways to ....",
"summarize....".

Ask for further information

Autodesk Assistant typically only displays the top knowledge search matches. You can ask the Autodesk Assistant to provide more information or more detailed information:

"Try again",
"Check your previous answer",
"Explain point 3",
"Explain in detail...".

Chat history matters

Autodesk Assistant considers the context of previous chat history when providing a response. If you are changing the topic completely, or moving to a new study window, click New Chat to start a new chat. Autodesk Assistant saves previous chats.

Limitations of Autodesk Assistant in Moldflow

Autodesk Assistant instances

While you can run multiple instances of Synergy simultaneously, or have multiple study files open in the multidocument interface, currently there in only one Autodesk Assistant instance, that is shared between all Synergy instances.

To avoid confusion, when you change to a new study start a New Chat.

User interface language

Autodesk Assistant capabilities and functionality may vary based on the Autodesk Assistant user interface language, which is controlled by the Synergy user interface you select.
