Options Editor Dialog Box

Use the Options Editor to adjust program settings for Navisworks sessions.

The settings that you set up in the Options Editor are persistent across all Navisworks sessions. You also share the modified settings with other members of your team. To create a locked global options file, run the stand-alone Options Editor in administrator mode. Clicking on the padlock icon locks the corresponding option. When you are finished, click the Export button to create a locked global options file that can be shared with other users.

The options are presented in a hierarchical tree structure. Clicking expands the nodes, clicking collapses the nodes.

General Options

Search

Use the search bar at the top of the dialog box to search for an option. As you type in your seacrh criteria, the tree is filtered to display the matching results in a node > page format, and the right panel displays the associated page.

Help

Click the question mark icon to display the context-sensitive help.

Export

Click the Import/Export button and select Export from the drop-down list. Use the Select Options to Export dialog box to select the global options you want to export (or “serialize”). If an option cannot be exported, it is unavailable.

Import

Click the Import/Export button and select Import from the drop-down list. Use the Open dialog box to browse to the file with the required global option settings.

Defaults

Restores the default values.

OK

Saves your changes and closes the Options Editor.

Cancel

Discards your changes and closes the Options Editor.
