Detach a Column

If you have attached columns to roofs, floors, or other elements, you can use the Detach Top/Base tool to reverse the attachment.

1. In the drawing area, select the column you want to detach. You can select multiple columns.
2. Click Modify Columns tabModify Column panel Detach Top/Base.
3. Click the target you want to detach the column from.

   If the column is attached to the target by its top and bottom, on the Modify Columns tab, click Detach All to detach the top and bottom of the column from the target.

   Note: Once the column is detached, you may need to reset the Top Offset in the Properties Palette.
