Manage Cloud Models with Forma Data Management

Models (workshared or non-workshared) uploaded to Forma Data Management can be deleted, restored, or renamed directly in Forma Data Management.

You cannot delete, restore, or rename a model with Forma Data Management directly in Revit.

You need to sign in to Forma Data Management to manage cloud models.

To delete a model with Forma Data Management

  1. From the Folders tab, select the model to delete.
  2. Click the drop-down menu ( … ) to the right of the model’s name in a tile or at the end of the row, depending on the selected view. You can also find this drop-down above the list of models.
  3. Click Delete.

When a cloud model is deleted in Forma Data Management, it will no longer be available in Revit. The model can be recovered from the Deleted Items folder.

To restore a model with Forma Data Management

  1. Open Forma Data Management.
  2. Select Deleted items.
  3. Select the model you want to restore and click Restore.

A notification indicates that the model is restored. For more information, see Delete or Restore Files and Folders.

Note: The Trash is not available in Revit 2027 Release. Revit models must be deleted from a Forma Data Management project using Forma Data Management.

To rename a model with Forma Data Management

  1. From the Folders tab, hover over a model name.
  2. Click the drop-down menu ( … ) to the right of the model's name in a tile or at the end of the row, depending on the selected view. You can also find this drop-down above the list of models.
  3. Click Rename.
  4. Type a new name and press Enter.

When a model is renamed in Forma Data Management, the new name will appear the next time the model is synced with central.
