Extended Properties

Extended properties are externally managed property datasets stored in the cloud and linked to your Revit cloud models.

Extended properties are defined in the Parameters Service.

When you use extended properties in Revit, you eliminate the need to copy data into shared/project parameters or have team members edit the Revit model directly.

When you use the Insert -> Extended Properties or Manage links ribbon commands to link from Forma Data Management, the data appears on selected Revit elements and can be viewed on the Properties palette or in schedules. Extended properties are read-only in Revit and cannot be used in tags, annotations, or filters.

Revit supports extended property datasets created from both Model Coordination and the AEC Data Model GraphQL APIs.

To access extended properties, use either of the following commands, and then select the Forma Data Management project and dataset.
