Add Point Boundary Conditions

Place a point boundary condition in a specific point of the analytical element.

Place a point boundary condition on an end point

  1. In the Analyze tab Structural Analytical Model panel (Boundary Conditions).
  2. In the Modify | Point Boundary Condition contextual ribbon Boundary Conditions panel, select (Point) and from the Point Boundary panel, select (On End-Point).
  3. Select the end of an analytical member or a corner of an analytical panel to place the boundary condition.
  4. The boundary condition is placed by the selected reference.


Note: The box next to the Is constrained on host parameter is automatically checked in the Point Boundary Conditions properties palette. The boundary condition is constrained to the selected element's reference. You can remove the constraint of this boundary condition by unchecking the box.

Place a point boundary condition by picking the position

  1. In the Analyze tab Structural Analytical Model panel (Boundary Conditions).
  2. In the Modify | Point Boundary Condition contextual ribbon Boundary Conditions panel, select (Point) and from the Point Boundary panel, select (Pick Position).
  3. Select the host. Only supported elements will be highlighted. A tooltip will indicate the supported element type.
  4. Select the point on the analytical member or on the analytical panel to place the boundary condition.


    The host will be highlighted during placement, while the pointer is within the limits of the selected host.
