Faceter V2 introduces a substantially reworked tessellation algorithm from the Autodesk ASM team and is now the default for file import and geometry editing, delivering more consistent and predictable mesh results. A new Grid Mode provides finer control over surface subdivision, producing more homogeneous triangle distribution, improving downstream workflows like UV unwrapping, and in many cases reducing triangle count without sacrificing visual quality.
The updated Faceter V2 also introduces a new Grid Mode, providing additional control over how surfaces are subdivided during tessellation.
None: Disables Grid Mode and behaves similar to the Faceter V1.

Grid to Edges: Extends the grid to intersect with face edges, which can improve mesh precision and quality.

Grid Interior: Adds grid points only to the interior of the face.

Grid Interior and Grid to Edges: Combines both options above.

This option significantly improves triangle distribution, producing more uniform, predictable meshes that simplify downstream work such as UV unwrapping. Depending on the model, it can also reduce triangle count without compromising visual fidelity.
