Configure folder mappings for Forma

Map Vault folders to Forma Data Management folders so the Vault Connector knows where to push files during synchronization. Folder mappings define the hub, project, Vault folder, Forma folder, and whether sub-folders are included.

Before configuring folder mappings, enable the Vault Connector in ADMS Console and confirm you have administrator permissions in Vault and access to the target Forma hub and project.

  1. Open Vault Connector Management in the Vault client:

Go to Tools > Administration > Vault Settings.

    • Click the Collaborate tab

    • Click Configure under Vault Connector Management

If you are not signed in with Autodesk ID, sign in when prompted.

  2. Open the Forma Data Management configuration:

In the Vault Connector configuration dialog, click the Forma Data Management tab.

  3. Add a folder mapping with Quick add:

In the Quick add section, add a mapping using either method:

    • Paste a Forma folder URL: Enter the URL of the target folder in Forma. You can copy the URL from the browser address bar, or from the Share and Link tab in the Forma folder actions. Click OK and the Forma, Forma Project, and Folder fields fill in automatically.

    • Fill in fields manually:

      • Forma: Enter the Forma hub ID and click Test to validate the connection. Where to find the Autodesk Forma Hub ID.
      • Forma Project: Select the target Forma Data Management project
      • Folder: Select the Vault folder and the corresponding Forma DM folder

      For either method, also complete:

    • Map to sub-folders: Select this checkbox to include sub-folders in the mapping

    • Details: Optionally enter a Name and Description for the mapping

Click Add to add the mapping to the list.

  4. Review mapped folders:

The Mapped Folders table lists each configuration with Name, Description, Hub, Project, Vault Folder, Forma Folder, and Sub-Folders columns.

    • Select one or more rows to configure property mappings, sync rules, or attachments for that folder pair
    • Click Preview Mappings... to review all folder, property, sync rule, and attachment mappings configured in the current Vault. In the preview dialog, click Export to save the mappings to a file, or Import to apply mappings from a file, which makes it easy to propagate configurations to other Vaults
    • Click Remove Mapped Folders to delete selected mappings
  5. Save the configuration:

    Click Apply, then click OK.

Folder mappings are saved and used for subsequent sync operations.
