Define how Vault file properties map to Forma Data Management attributes for each folder pair. Property mappings control which metadata synchronizes when files are pushed to Forma.
Before configuring property mappings, create at least one folder mapping and select the folder pair or pairs you want to configure in the Mapped Folders table.
Open Vault Connector Management:
Go to Tools > Administration > Vault Settings, click the Collaborate tab, then click Configure under Vault Connector Management.
Select mapped folders:
On the Forma Data Management tab, select one or more rows in the Mapped Folders table.
If the selected folders use different property mappings, a message indicates that the folder pairs have multiple property mappings.
Open the Property Mappings tab:
Click the Property Mappings tab.
Add or edit property mappings:
For each mapping row:
Select a Vault Property from the dropdown list
Select a matching Forma DM Attribute from the dropdown list
Pay attention to property types. When you select a Vault property, the Forma attribute list filters to show only compatible attributes.
Use Add, Replace, and Remove to manage mapping rows in the table.
(Optional) Save or reuse a property mapping template:
Save the configuration:
Click Apply, then click OK.
Property mappings apply to sync operations for the selected folder pairs.
If a mapped Forma folder has required custom attributes and its Holding Area is turned off, Sync to Forma fails with a missing-required-attribute error — even when those attributes map to Vault properties that already contain values.
This is a known Vault Connector limitation. To avoid the error, either turn on the Holding Area for the target Forma folder, or make the custom attributes optional. For more about how to turn on or off the holding area, see Forma Data Management - The File Holding Area.
