Use Workflow Actions in the Fusion Manage Panel

Perform workflow actions on Workflow Items from the Fusion Manage Panel in Vault. Move Workflow Items through their states without leaving the Vault client.

The panel shows workflow actions when you select a Workflow Item with pending steps. Use these actions to advance items, add comments, and manage workflows from Vault.

When workflow actions appear

Workflow actions display in the panel when:

Workflow action types

The panel shows workflow actions based on the item's state and your permissions. Available actions are set in the Fusion Manage Workflow editor.

  1. Open the Fusion Manage Panel:

    In the Vault client, find the Fusion Manage Panel on the right side.

    If the panel is not visible, click the panel toggle button or use the View menu to enable it.

  2. Select a Workflow Item:

    • Click an Item in the Item Master view

    • Navigate to the Related Changes tab in the panel

    • Select a Workflow Item from the list that requires action

      The panel shows the item details and available actions.

  3. Review the Workflow Item details:

    • Check the current workflow state
    • Review the item description and affected Items
    • Check any existing comments or workflow history
    • Verify that you have the permissions to perform the action
  4. Select a workflow action:

    Click the action button you want to perform. The actions depend on the Workflow editor settings in Fusion Manage.

    The workflow action dialog opens.

  5. Add comments:

    If a comments field appears, enter a comment to explain your decision. This field is set in Fusion Manage. It can be disabled, optional, or required.

  6. Confirm the workflow action:

    Review your action and comments, then click the button to confirm. The button label is set in the Fusion Manage Workflow editor.

    The action is sent to Fusion Manage. The panel updates to show the new state.

  7. Verify the workflow action result:

    Check that the Workflow Item state has changed:

    • The panel shows the new workflow state

    • Your action appears in the workflow history

    • Any comments you added are visible in the item details

      The action is complete and visible to other users in Fusion Manage.
