On the Colors tab of the Modify DGN Export Setup dialog (see Exporting to DGN), select either of the following options to specify how colors are exported to DGN files:
- Index color (255 Colors). For colors that are set by category, the indexed colors specified on the Levels tab of the Modify DGN Export Setup dialog will be used. During DGN export, the actual color is translated, which means that the color number and the DGN color number may not be the same, but the colors will appear to be the same when viewed. When colors are not set by category and the override is preserved in the export, Vasari uses the closest match from the 255 indexed colors and thus may not provide an exact match for RGB and Pantone® colors.
- True color (RGB Values). Uses the RGB value from Vasari for the ByLayer and ByEntity parameters, rather than the indexed color from the Levels tab of the Modify DGN Export Setup dialog. For example, when you export room (or space) color fills, the colors in the exported file exactly match those in the original file.
