When creating perimeter thermal zones, there are instances when the zone is not created as expected. Perimeter zones are not created under the following conditions:
- the core is not created in mass ellipses or shapes with internal loops such as courtyards
- the core has a different number of edges than the outside
- the Perimeter Offset is set to 0 (zero) in the Energy Settings dialog
- instances in which a mass has volume below the lowest mass floor, no core or perimeter zones will be created, the volume is simply created as a single zone.
- instances where perimeter zones fail geometrically
- there is more than one exterior or interior loop (courtyard or upside down "U" shape building "U" standing vertically)
- the number of interior edges is less than 2
- the curved zone bends back over the cutting plane.
