In most cases, the rectangular openings created using the Target Percentage Glazing in the Energy Settings dialog are adequate for creating an accurate energy model. In the cases where the automatic glazing settings do not meet your design requirements, you may need to create a custom glazing condition.
Note: Automatic glazing is not created if the Target Sill Height dimension is less than 3 feet.
Open a view that displays the energy model.
Select the surface of the energy model where you will add the custom glazing.
Note: Place the cursor over the edge of the desired face, press Tab one or more times until the desired face is highlighted, and click to select it.
On the Properties Palette, under Model, for Values, select By Surface.
Set Target Percentage Glazing to 0%.
Select the mass (you may have to use the Tab button to select the mass element) and select Click Modify | Mass tabModel panel (Edit In-Place).
Click Modify tabGeometry panel (Split Face).
Use the tools from the Draw panel to create a closed loop sketch on the surface of the mass where the custom glazing condition is required.
