After the initial project download, you can choose to edit the download options for sheets, photos, and attachments/references to apply to subsequent project syncs.
The new download options will be active from the next project sync, for example if you choose to sync the project after being notified of project updates, or if you refresh a project at any time.
If the sheets, photos or attachments/references download options were previously turned on, and you then change the download option to a lesser setting or off, the items that were automatically downloaded in the previous project sync are not removed from the device on the next sync.
Files download options work slightly differently because files and folders can be set to download automatically to a mobile device in the Docs tool.
When specifying the photos download options for a project, take note of the following considerations:
For any photos that have not yet downloaded, you can manually download them even if they don't match the selected download option. Photos that have not yet been downloaded are shown as follows:
After subsequent project syncs, all downloaded photos remain on your device.
If you change your photos download option from No photos to All photos, all photos will be downloaded on all subsequent project syncs as long as that download option remains the same. This includes those photos that have been added as references to other items (for example, a photo referenced in a form or issue).
If you select one of the time-based photo download options, for example Photos from last 7 days, only those photos added to the project in the last 7 days (excluding today) are downloaded. If today is 28 March, any photos added between the 21–27 March inclusive will be downloaded. On 29 March, if the same download option is still selected, the date range for downloads will now be 22–28 March, which means that any photos added since the previous date range (in this case, on 28 March) will be downloaded.
Any downloaded photos remain in the Photos tool in the app unless manually deleted from the project on the web. In our example, this means that photos from 21 March, which now falls outside of the current date range, will remain on your device.
Items such as sheets or photos can be both an individual piece of data, and also be an attachment or reference related to another item. For these items, two sets of download options might apply. In such cases, all items that meet each set of criteria are downloaded. Items do not need to meet both sets of criteria to be downloaded. In addition, only those items that are directly referenced by or attached to an issue, RFI or submittal are downloaded.
For example, consider the following download options:
Based on these options, all references and attachments associated with active issues in the project are downloaded, even if they don't meet the Photos criteria:
Each downloaded project listed under On this device contains the following details:
Last sync time
Storage size of the project
Status indicators and information
The status indicator icons are:
Updates available: There are changes on the web that are not on your device. Tapping Sync allows you to receive updates made to the project, including new files, sheets and published mark-ups where relevant.
Project up to date: Your project is up to date with the web product and doesn't need syncing.
Errors during syncing: This indicates that there were errors uploading your changes to the web, or errors downloading changes from the web to your device. Click View to access the Sync status page and view the relevant upload or downloads tab.
See the Sync Troubleshooting topic for more information on sync errors and troubleshooting steps.
You may need to fully refresh the app to receive updates if you've had the app open while you're working.
