General Questions

What is happening with Progress Tracking?

The Progress Tracking tool, which is in beta in Autodesk Build, is going to be merging into the Assets tool.

When is this merging of tools going to happen?

Existing Progress Tracking projects will have their Progress Tracking data migrated into Assets beginning on 31 March 2023 at 6:00 PM PST. Progress tracking functionality is now available in Assets. Learn more in Track Assets on Sheets.

Why are we merging Progress Tracking into Assets?

Progress Tracking delivers a simple and intuitive way to track installation progress on construction sheets that our customers love. Assets targets customers who want to execute installation and commissioning workflows on sheets and 3D models. It provides deep integrations with the ACC platform, including field collaboration and project controls workflows.

Over the past year, Assets and Progress Tracking teams have gathered a lot feedback from customers using both tools on the ACC platform. One clear need that came from our research is that Assets users need the ability to visually track assets on sheets. Progress Tracking users also need deeper integrations with the ACC platform to capture richer data during installations, which Assets provides today.

The merge provides much richer workflows that span a project lifecycle. This brings a single intuitive solution that scales with our customers’ needs and maturity, rather than providing separate solutions for visual sheet vs 3D model asset tracking.
