The Progress Tracking Beta is ending and the Progress Tracking tool will soon no longer be available. Progress tracking functionality is available now in the Assets tool. Learn more about why we merged Progress Tracking functionality into Assets here.

This article discusses exactly what to expect in this merge. We will migrate all of your Progress Tracking data into the Assets tool and you can understand how that data will appear once it is in Assets.

Progress Tracking Tool

• The icon in the Build menu will no longer be available. Once your data has been migrated to Assets, the Progress Tracking tool will no longer exist.
• Many of the same functionalities are now available in Assets. The only features that will not be carried over from the Progress Tracking tool are the ability to track or view by measurement, and an in-product dashboard.

Progress Tracking Objects and Activities

The following shows how specific progress tracking items will translate into Assets:

*Object Types will be carried over as "Object Type (Progress Tracking)". The name can be changed in Assets by a project administrator.

**Each migrated Object Type will have an associated Status Set created.

Permissions

By default, project members don't have permission to access assets. Members will need to be added to the Assets member list by a project administrator and granted a basic permission to View assets. For how to grant asset permissions, see Asset Permissions.

Markups

Progress Tracking Markups will become Asset Markups. Learn how to use asset markups in Track Assets on Sheets.

The markup status will be the last completed activity.

Reports

The Progress Tracking XLSX report will no longer be available. You can use the Asset Detail Reports (CSV and PDF) in Assets. We also have included status change times in our Data Connector export to support the same information that was available in the Progress Tracking report. We updated our Power BI Templates to provide more insight and information on your project’s activities.
