Starting Grading Optimization

Whether you are beginning, continuing or editing an existing Grading Optimization project, be sure your source drawing contains a TIN surface and grading objects. Make sure you have an idea of how the site should grade, drain and accommodate its surrounding terrain.

  1. Open your drawing.
  2. Click Analyse tab > Grading Optimization panel > Optimise.
  3. The Grading Optimization interface opens.
  4. Review your project settings.

Changes made to grading objects in Grading Optimization will be updated in the Civil 3D drawing.

Important: If you close Grading Optimization or Civil 3D before sending the results to the drawing, optimisation updates to the surface will be lost.
