Why can't I use the editing tools?

The full capabilities of the AutoCAD web app are available to customers who are subscribed to a desktop version of AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT, or who have an AutoCAD Web subscription, which includes AutoCAD on the web and on a mobile device. If you're new to AutoCAD Web, you also have access to the editing tools as part of your 30-day free trial.

Drawings that are shared with you are in view-only mode, and the editing tools are unavailable.

Did the Web App Program come to an end?

The AutoCAD Web App Program granting free use of the editing commands concluded on August 8, 2022, and Autodesk is now offering the option to purchase AutoCAD Web with the added benefit of mobile access in the AutoCAD Web offering. Click here for more information.

I already have an AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT subscription, but I still can't get access to the editing tools. What should I do?

If you have an AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT subscription but you’re unable to access the editing tools, it is because your Autodesk account isn’t synchronized with your AutoCAD subscription.

If you are part of a multi-user subscription license, and/or have an administrator who manages your account, all you have to do is ask your administrator, or whomever manages your multi-user account, to assign you access.

Can I use the editing tools if I have a student license?

The AutoCAD web app is included with your Autodesk Education licesnse.

Can I switch the background or color theme?

The background color is aways black in model space and a white in paper space. You can change the color theme, which switches the color of menus, panels, and dialogs between dark and light. AutoCAD defaults to a dark theme. Turn dark theme on or off within the user profile drop-down in the top-right of the header.

What languages are available?

The AutoCAD web app is available in the following languages:

To change the language, go to Settings alt and in the Languages section, choose between English and the default language your web browser is set to. Note Language changes will take place the next time you refresh the app.

How do I repeat the last command?

Repeat the last command by pressing Enter or Spacebar. You can also right-click in the drawing area and choose Repeat last command in the context menu.

How do I change linetypes, dim styles, and other style properties?

You can modify object properties such as linetypes and dim styles in Properties. alt

An uploaded drawing will maintain any linetypes and styles that exist in the drawing, and you can switch between these options. However, you cannot currently create new linetypes or styles.

What are the system requirements?

The AutoCAD web app is supported by 64-bit Google Chrome (version 85 or later), 64-bit Mozilla Firefox (version 78 or later), and 64-bit new Microsoft Edge (Chromium based, version 85 or later) on Windows or Mac. For the best performance, it is recommended to use the latest version.

Since this product runs entirely on the web, the system requirements are minimal. It is recommended that you have at least 2GB of RAM.

Does the AutoCAD web app count towards my device count?

No, since the AutoCAD web app is not installed on a device, it does not impact the downloads on devices count.
