External References

Xrefs (DWG files that are referenced within a drawing) and some other external references, such as images, can be displayed.

References will resolve in a drawing if they are stored in the same folder as the parent drawing, or if the path is defined.

To attach an external reference

1. Click Xrefs in the side panel.
2. Choose Attach XREF.
3. Choose a file and click Attach.
4. Specify an insertion point.

To resolve a missing external reference

1. Click Xrefs in the side panel.
2. Right-click a reference from the list of external references.
3. Choose Resolve path.
4. Choose a file and click Resolve.

Alternatively, you can upload the missing external reference to the same location as the parent file and refresh the drawing.

To detach an external reference

1. Click Xrefs in the side panel.
2. Right-click a reference from the list of external references.
3. Choose Detach.

To unload or reload an external reference

1. Click Xrefs in the side panel.
2. Right-click a reference from the list of external references.
3. Choose Unload or Reload.

Viewable image types

The following image types can display:

• .JPG, .JPEG
• .PNG
• .GIF
• .BMP
