External References

Xrefs (DWG files that are referenced within a drawing) and some other external references, such as images, can be displayed.

References will resolve in a drawing if they are stored in the same folder as the parent drawing, or if the path is defined.

To attach an external reference

1. Click XREF in the side panel.
2. Choose Attach XREF.
3. Choose a file and click Attach.
4. Specify an insertion point.

To resolve a missing external reference

1. Click XREF in the side panel.
2. Right-click a reference from the list of external references.
3. Choose Resolve path.
4. Choose a file and click Resolve.

Alternatively, you can upload the missing external reference to the same location as the parent file and refresh the drawing.

To detach an external reference

1. Click XREF in the side panel.
2. Right-click a reference from the list of external references.
3. Choose Detach.

To load or unload an external reference

You can load (turn on) or unload (turn off) external references.

1. Click XREF in the side panel.
2. Click the on/off icon to the right of the desired reference.

Viewable image types

The following image types can display:

• .JPG, .JPEG
• .PNG
• .GIF
• .BMP
