Shared support files provide CAD administrators with a single location to maintain and deploy support files in AutoCAD on the web, making it easier to use and manage support files and to enforce company standards.
Support files configurations act as bridge for accessing and distributing support files within a project. By default, all the project members with access to the project in which this configuration has been assigned get view-only access to support files, meaning they can use the files with AutoCAD on the web, but cannot modify, add, or delete support files. By creating and assigning a support files configuration to an ACC project, CAD project admins are creating automatic deployment of support files and enforcing the company standards.
The following file types can be saved and deployed as support files using the Support Files manager:
Connect an Autodesk Docs / Autodesk Construction Cloud project. Support files must be within an Autodesk Docs / Autodesk Construction Cloud project. If you haven’t already connected your projects, follow these steps to connect to an Autodesk Construction Cloud / Autodesk Docs project.
Open the Support Files manager. On the homepage, click Manage Support Files on the left sidebar. The Support Files manager opens.
Select a Source. From the source drop-down menu, select an Autodesk Construction Cloud project.
Create a New Configuration. Support files require a configuration file that defines the path to the location of the support files. This configuration is saved within an Autodesk Construction Cloud project. To create a new configuration, in the Support Files manager, click the New Configuration button.
Select Folders. Select the project that contains the support files you want to use. Then select and add the folder or folders within the project that contain the support files. Any support files contained within the selected folders will be included among the shared support files.
To access and use the support files your admin has assigned, simply connect to the Autodesk Construction Cloud / Autodesk Docs project in AutoCAD on the web. Follow these steps to connect to an Autodesk Construction Cloud / Autodesk Docs project.
All the assigned support files in the project are now available to use in AutoCAD on the web.
