ROTATE (Command)
Rotate objects in your drawing around a specified base point.
To determine the angle of rotation, you can choose points using in the drawing or specify a reference angle to align to an absolute angle.
To rotate an object
- Click ROTATE.
- Select the object to rotate.
- Click to specify the base point for the rotation.
- Do one of the following:
- Click in the drawing area to specify the angle of rotation
- Click Reference in the command options
Choosing Reference allows you define an imaginary line that represents zero degrees.
After you click Reference in the command options:
- Specify the first reference point.
- Specify the second reference point.
This determines an imaginary line that will be rotated to a new angle.
- Specify the new rotation angle.
The value that you enter for the new angle is an absolute angle, not a relative value. Alternatively, if you specify a point, the reference angle will be rotated to that point.
