Characteristics of Package and Application models

Package model

• Deploys to devices only
• Device deployments are to Software Center only
• Runs from a distribution point

Application model

• Deploys to users and devices
• Deployment to a user collection is visible in the Configuration Manager
• With Autodesk's recommended setup, uses dependency chains and detection methods
• Can automatically supersede applications when updating source

• Stand-alone primary site: 100,000 clients
• Central administration site with a site database created on a datacenter or Enterprise edition of SQL Server: 400,000 clients
• Central administration site with a site database created on a Standard edition of SQL Server: 50,000 clients
