Virtualization lets you run applications on a virtual machine isolated within a server. You need fewer physical machines and can pool computer resources. If you plan to install and run a product in a virtual environment, check system requirements and verify that the terms and conditions of your license allow use in a virtual environment. Not all licenses permit virtual use. Here are some general guidelines for different license types.
Subscriptions with single-user access or an enterprise business agreement
If you have a single-user subscription or your subscription is through an enterprise business agreement, you can install your software in a virtual environment. IT managers can deploy software so that assigned users can access products from multiple devices. However, only one authorized user can access a single license at a time.
Subscriptions with multi-user access or maintenance plan customers
If you have a subscription with multi-user access or a maintenance plan, you may not install your software in a virtual environment.
