Look Ahead Plan

The Look Ahead Plan (LAP) is a detailed breakdown of the phase schedule created by the Last Planners looking forward 6-weeks. This is sometimes called a Make-Ready plan.

The goal of the LAP is to identify and remove the obstacles or roadblocks that could prevent execution of the plan.

The LAP is not just a snapshot of the baseline master schedule. The LAP is used to clearly define work that can be performed and to identify hand-offs between trades or workgroups. Activities are broken down in more detail as they draw closer. The 6th week's work is added to the LAP as the first week's work is committed to the Weekly Work Plan.
