Before uploading to Glue
- Determine the coordinates prior to uploading. The BIM 360 add-in for Revit has two options: Project Internal and Shared Coordinates. Shared Coordinates is the default selection.
- Separate Revit models per trade. If that is not possible, create separate views for each trade in Revit then Glue the views separately. Then merge the models in Glue.
- Use names for views that can be easily identified.
- Hide elements that don't need to be viewed in Glue.
- Determine which format to use prior to uploading: NWC or DWF.
- Remove objects "floating in space" away from the main model.
- Use the BIM 360 add-in. However, if the add-in upload fails, exporting the view(s) in .dwf or .nwc format from Revit then uploading the exported files directly in Glue Desktop is a typical work-around.
During the upload process
- Do not rename the view in the Glue upload window. Rename the view from Revit.
- Use either Shared Coordinates or Project Internal, using both will result in a "Duplicate Location found" error message when uploading.
- BIM 360 Glue recognizes whether the view being uploaded already exists. It will prompt to either Update the existing or Save new.
- A Gluing Complete window appears when the model has been glued successfully and is ready for viewing in BIM 360 Glue.
