To Measure Distance (Mobile)

Make linear, point-to-point measurements and capture the shortest distance using the Measure Tool.

Change Units of Measurement

Show or Hide XYZ Differences

Display or hide XYZ Differences when using the Point to Point measure tool. Displaying the XYZ Differences allows you to compare the length of your Point to Point measurement to the length of the X, Y or Z axis. XYZ Differences appear automatically along the XYZ axis when you use the Point to Point measure tool.
Note: XYZ Differences appear at the top left of the screen if you are zoomed out far or the axis is at an acute angle.
  1. From the iPad's main menu, Settings Apps BIM 360 Glue XYZ Differences.
  2. Push the slider to the Off position.

Measure Between Two Points

Measure the distance between two points in the model, and view the XYZ differences when measuring. When you tap and hold a point, guides appear to help you make accurate measurements. A magnifying glass icon focuses on the area beneath your finger. Use it to measure with precision and see areas that might otherwise be obscured. You can then snap to a surface, corner, or edge.

  1. On the BIM 360 toolbar, tap Measure Point to Point .
  2. In the model, tap a start point and end point.
  3. Tap and hold to display the magnifying glass and guides.
  4. The shortest distance is calculated and displayed in the model. The XYZ differences are also displayed.

Calculate the Shortest Distance

  2. In the model, tap a start point and end point.
  3. The shortest distance is calculated and displayed in the model.
