With the BIM 360 add-ins, you can upload your models from within your authoring software. See
Install Glue Add-Ins.
Before you begin, verify that you have installed the appropriate version of the BIM 360 app.
Note: To coordinate Revit models with other models in BIM 360 Glue, install the Revit add-in. Then use the Glue It feature to add Revit models to Glue.
Directly from Revit
In Glue, project members from different disciplines can merge models together, regardless of the version of the application they are using. From this merged model, they can check for clashes, create markups, and send notices.
- In Revit, open the model(s) in 3D View.
- Click Add-Ins tab
BIM 360 Glue panel Glue. Sign in with your Autodesk ID and follow the instructions.
Note: When you select views to add as models to your project, you can choose to upload the model as either a NWC or DWF file. If your model already exists in Glue as a DWF, the default is DWF. In this case, if you want to switch to NWC to gain the benefits of sharing additional Revit data in Glue, this creates a new model instance in Glue (and not a new version of the existing DWF model). When uploading new models, by default the model is uploaded as a NWC file.
IMPORTANT: To enable uploading a model as a NWC file, install the
Autodesk Navisworks NWC export utility.
Directly from Navisworks
Note: Uploading directly from Navisworks is supported in Navisworks 2015 or previous versions. In Navisworks 2016 or higher you can open, append, and align BIM 360 Glue project models and then save as a merged model in BIM 360 Glue.
- In Navisworks 2015 or preview versions, open the model(s) in 3D View.
- Click Add-Ins tab
BIM 360 Glue panel Glue It. Sign in with your Autodesk ID and follow the instructions.
Directly from AutoCAD
Before gluing models, detach cross-references or set to Do Not Plot, purge the model, and hide annotations.
- In AutoCAD, open the models in 3D View.
- Click Add-Ins tab
BIM 360 Glue panel Glue It. Sign in with your Autodesk ID and follow the instructions.

Orient to View
