For best results, here are recommendations when uploading AutoCAD files to Glue.
- Purge drawings prior to uploading.
- Freeze layers of objects that don't need to be viewed in Glue.
- Make sure that there are no "Unresolved" or missing XREF links. If possible, detach or unload any XREF files that are not needed in BIM 360 Glue.
- Delete any objects that are "floating" away from the rest of the model.
- Consider creating objects that will be shared between Glue and Field as blocks or devices from AutoCAD.
- When sharing a model from Glue with Field, using the objects' GUID is probably the best option for the Unique Identifier. However, for AutoCAD, having three separate solid objects that makes up an assembly of one equipment object will result in the creation of three separate equipment objects in BIM 360 Field, which will result in inaccurate equipment tracking in Field.
