Measure or Calibrate Distances
Distance Between Two Points
Measure the distance between two points in a sheet/model, and view the XYZ differences between objects when measuring.
- Open a sheet/model Measure.
- Click Distance.
- Select the start and end point of the distance to be measured. If measuring between two objects in a model, select a point on each object.
- Select Restart to begin another measurement.
Angle
Measure the angle between points.
- Open a sheet/model Measure.
- Click Angle.
- Click a base point to measure from.
- Click the first point to measure from.
- As you move the cursor over a second point, the angle is displayed.
Area
Calculate an area by defining its perimeter.
- Open a sheet/model Measure.
- Click Area.
- Click to register a series of points to describe the perimeter of the area you want to calculate. The dimension label displays the area of the perimeter described since the first point.
- Select Restart to begin another measurement.
Change Unit
Change the unit of measurement, for instance, from feet and inches to meters.
- Measure the distance between two points.
- Click Measure Settings .
- In the dialog box, select Unit Type and change the unit of measurement.
Note: Any changes to a model's coordinate systems, including units, will result in issue pins becoming displaced.
Change Precision
Change the tolerance or precision of measurement.
- Measure the distance between two points.
- Click Measure Settings .
- In the dialog box, select Precision and change the unit of precision.
Isolate
Isolate to display only the objects that have been measured.
- Measure the distance between two points.
- In the Measure dialog box, select Isolate measurement.
Calibrate
Capture a known distance between two objects and then calibrate or adjust your model to reflect these dimensions and measurement units.
- Open a sheet/model Measure Calibrate.
- Select two points on the model.
- In the Calibration dialog box, enter a Size and Unit Type and press Enter.
