The water savings applied here are based on observed saving potentials from retrofit/replacement programs for each fixture and appliance in the cited literature. Cost savings are calculated as a function of the water savings for each efficiency measure and water and sewer costs. Water saved indoors achieves water and sewer cost savings, while water saved outdoors achieves only water cost savings.
