Upgrade Power BI dashboard

Upgrade to Autodesk Data Connector for Power BI v3.0.0 to load older and newer Data Exchanges. Version 3.0.0 works with dashboards built on earlier connector versions. This is called backward compatible. v2.4.0 and earlier do not work with exchanges created after July 15, 2026. These versions are not forward compatible. They try to download SVF1 geometry data. SVF1 is not available for newer exchanges. The connector then fails and shows an error.

Exchange compatibility

Connector version Older exchanges (before July 15, 2026) Newer exchanges (July 15, 2026 and later)
v3.0.0 Supported Supported
v2.4.0 and earlier Supported Not supported

Symptom on v2.4.0 and earlier with newer exchanges:

You may see this error when you load or refresh:

There weren't enough elements in the enumeration to complete the operation.

Resolution: Upgrade to v3.0.0. Install the latest connector from Installation and Update. Then follow the steps in this topic to refresh your dashboard.

Before you upgrade

If you created dashboards using Power BI connector v2.0.10 or later, back up your dashboard first. A backup helps you recover if you need to revert changes.

Important:

Upgrade steps

  1. Open your existing dashboard created with the older connector version.
  2. Click Refresh to pull data using the v3.0.0 connector.
  3. Complete the refresh. The dashboard should update with data from the v3.0.0 connector.
  4. After a successful refresh, import the v3.0.0 visual and load the exchange.
