Members need Create + Upload permission or higher to create a Data Exchange.
If the 3D view contains many objects, the Data Exchange will take longer to process. The Data Exchange will display in the target folder; however, you may have to wait a few minutes before the view processing is completed.
The Data Exchange may not update due to one of the following causes:
Potential Cause | Suggested action |
---|---|
The source Revit file is moved, deleted, or restored from deletion | Unfortunately, this Data Exchange will no longer update. You need to either publish a Revit file from Revit, or upload a Revit file to the Files tool and create a new Data Exchange. |
The relevant 3D view is deleted | Unfortunately, this Data Exchange will no longer update. You need to either publish a Revit file from Revit including the 3D view, or upload a Revit file including the 3D view to the Files tool and create a new Data Exchange. |
The relevant 3D view is unpublished | Add the 3D view back into the Publish Set in Revit and publish to the cloud, or upload again to the Files tool. |
A previous version of the source Revit file is made the current version | Version up the source Revit file so the latest version is the current version |
While you can complete most file actions with a Data Exchange in Autodesk Docs, you can't download, compare, make current, or lock them. Data Exchanges can only be viewed by opening them from the Files tool.
If you have placed a Room in a Revit model, its visibility in a 3D view cannot be controlled using traditional Revit view filtering rules. Therefore, Room objects are always included in a Data Exchange as long as the Room’s bounding box is inside the current view. If a section box is applied to the view, then the Room needs to be partially inside the section box to be included. The Room’s phase must match the view’s phase in accordance with Revit’s view filtering rules.
