Move Files or Folders
Move will move all versions of the selected files to the target folder.
Note: See the
File and Folder Actions help topic for other actions you can access from folder tree, action bar, and files list.
Permission Required to Move Files or Folders
Files
You need:
- Edit folder permission or above for the source folder.
- Create + Upload permission or above for the target folder.
Folders
You need:
- Edit folder permission or above for the source folder.
- Edit permission or above for the target folder.
Limitations
- You can't move files which are locked by other members.
- You can't move a file with the same name and file extension as another file in the target folder as Move does not generate a new file version. You will need to rename, delete, or move the existing file out of the folder to move the file. If you just want to add a version of the selected file to the existing file, use Copy to version up the existing file.
