Members with Create + Upload permission or above can upload photos, videos, and files in supported file formats from their device to project folders in the Files tool. Project members with the relevant folder permissions will be able to view the uploaded files on web or on their mobile device.
You can upload each video, photo, or file as long as each doesn't exceed 1000 MB.
Tap the Files tool.
Tap to open the folder you want to upload files to.
Tap the blue button
You can choose from the following options:
Use camera
You can take one or more videos and photos using the camera on your device and upload all, or a selection, to the relevant folder.
Upload from photo gallery
This option opens the photo gallery on your device.
Upload from files
You can upload files in supported file formats which are stored on your device to project folders in the Files tool.
The progress of your uploads will display in File Uploads:
File Uploads shows the status of files that you're uploading. You can close File uploads and files will continue to process in the background.
File upload status | Summary |
---|---|
Uploaded to [folder name] folder | The upload is successful. Tap the folder name to open the folder. |
Uploading | The file is currently uploading |
Pending upload | The file is queued for uploading. |
Uploading error | There is a general error. Tap Retry to try again. |
Uploading error: File is locked by another member | The file is locked and needs to be unlocked before it can be uploaded. |
Uploading error: File name is invalid | File names can’t contain these characters < > : " / \ | ? * or exceed 255 characters or end with a point. Rename the file locally and try again. |
Uploading error: No permission to upload to this folder | You don't have permission to upload to this folder. Your permission may have been removed during the upload workflow. Contact your administrator. |
Uploading error: File has the same name as a subfolder | The file can't have the same name as a subfolder in the target folder. Rename the file locally and try again. |
Uploading error: Folder doesn't exist | The folder may have been deleted after you selected it and before or during the file upload. Tap Retry or upload the file again to a different folder. |
Uploading error: File doesn't conform to naming standard | The file doesn't comply with the naming standard and the project doesn't have the holding area turned on. Rename the file locally to comply with the naming standard and try again. |
Viewable in holding area on web | The file doesn't comply with the naming standard and the project has the holding area turned on. You can access the holding area on web and rename the file correctly to display in the relevant folder. |
