makes available two independent APIs for interacting with the system:

• The Broker API allows a user or another server to access application data and make controlled modifications.
• The Device API allows a client to submit messages directly to the system, bypassing 's cloud adaptation layer and communication servers.

Neither of these APIs is available for stand-alone usage; that is, each requires that a n account already be created and configured via the user interface of the cloud platform.
