The Send Directive Action causes the system to send out a message to a registered device. The platform only supports outbound messaging to certain device types, so this action requires that the current account have one such supported device. Furthermore, the device profile of this device must contain at least one enabled outbound message. Some device profiles contain outbound messages by default, but these can be disabled; others allow the user to add new message types, and the user can specify whether a message type is used for inbound or outbound communication. If these prerequisites are met, a Send Directive action can be created using the following panel:
