Service Types

The Service Database includes six default Service Types. All Product Lists items and Fitting Templates have been assigned to the relevant Service Type, and in most cases there is no need to add to the list. If it is necessary to create a New Service Type, follow Step 1 below.

The Service Type is used to categorise CADmep products and define the layering tag system when drawing.

Adding a New Service Type

To attain the required layering system, new Service Types can be added and associated with specific product lists. e.g. Pipework product lists (Victaulic, Welded, Plastic, etc), have the Pipework Service Type assigned, but to assign all the Drainage Pipework to a different Service Type, follow the procedure below.

1. Click the Edit Services Database icon .
2. Select Service Types from the list.
3. Click the Add New Service button .
4. Type the name of the new service in the Description window.
5. Click Apply 6.
6. Click OK .

   

   • Id number: Not applicable.

   • Description: This is the name given to the New Service Type added.

To complete the process

1. Highlight the required item(s) from within the folders.
2. Right Click and select Service Information 4.
3. Select the New Service Type.
4. Click OK .

Removing a Service Type

Note: Fixed Service Types cannot be removed.

1. Click the Delete icon that corresponds with the Service Type to be removed.
