Fitting Complex Nodes can be used for complex areas of the drawing. This is a relief mechanic which allows the user to takeoff an item using insertion points and Attacher methods. When set on a button, and positioned onto the End of a Design Line, the user is prompted with dimensional data / insertion options that are then to be confirmed from the Fitting Complex Node toolbar, shown below.
From the main run, a Complex Fitting Node button can be selected at the time of insertion. This can happen either from the button with the Fitting Complex Node fitting type assigned, or from the right-click menu of the button containing the item to be assigned (by right-click Takeoff Fitting Complex Node). This right-click menu is only obtained from being in Design Line creation mode.
NOTE: Once in the Design Line, the part is not erased or refilled using the Erase and Fill3D icons.
The user is able to configure dimensions/options of the part along with insertion point and rotation options from the toolbar. On confirmation, Design Lines are added to each of the ends of the inserted item ready for continuation of the line. An example scenario of when these should be used is shown below.
