You can launch the Edit Configuration application in the following ways:
- Create a desktop shortcut
- Double-click editmap.exe
- Select Edit Configuration from the Start menu
Creating a desktop shortcut
The easiest way to access the Edit Configuration application is to create a desktop shortcut that launches it. To do this:
- In Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder where the Autodesk Fabrication product (CADmep,
ESTmep or
CAMduct) is installed. This is typically C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Fabrication <version>\<Autodesk Fabrication product>.
- Right-click editmap.exe and select Send to > Desktop (create shortcut).
The desktop shortcut is created. Double-click the shortcut to launch the Edit Configuration application.
Double-click editmap.exe
- In Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder where the Autodesk Fabrication product is installed. This is typically C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Fabrication <version>\<Autodesk Fabrication product>.
- Double-click editmap.exe to launch the Edit Configuration application.
Select Edit Configuration from Start menu
- Click the Start button

Edit Configuration.
The Edit Configuration application is launched.
Note: When using the Edit Configuration application, the Fabrication application you are editing (CADmep,
ESTmep or
CAMduct) must
not be running. If you use the Edit Configuration application while a Fabrication product is running, when the Fabrication product is closed, the settings enabled at the time within the Fabrication product, and not within the Edit Configuration application, will be saved.
