Installation Notes
- Added support for the 2015 versions of Inventor Professional, Revit, and Revit Architecture.
- The Standalone version of Flow Design now supports Mac OS.
- This release is English only.
- The May 21 release is available through the accounts.autodesk.com and the Subscription Center as a complete installation.
- If you have the previous version of Flow Design, you should uninstall it from your computer prior to installing the new version.
- This update addresses the Heartbleed vulnerability - a security bug in the open-source OpenSSL cryptography library. Heartbleed is registered in the Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures system as CVE-2014-0160. For more information, please visit the CVE dictionary at http://cve.mitre.org.
Licensing
Licensing is managed by Autodesk 360, and is tied to your A360 sign in. When you start Flow Design, you will be prompted to sign in with your Autodesk 360 login and password. As long as your account is authorized to use Flow Design, you will be able to use it.
Off-line Solving
After a successful login, you can use Flow Design remotely (off-network) for up to 2 weeks before signing-in again. At the end of the 2 week period, Flow Design will prompt you to sign in to confirm your account authorization.

Known Issues
Flow Design for Revit
- The display of Surface Pressure in Revit is a computationally intensive process, and a slight delay is typical. In some models, however, Flow Design fails to display Surface Pressures, and sometimes crashes when the Surface Pressure command is invoked.
Flow Design for Inventor
- Inventor 2015 may crash after clicking the "Finish Flow Design" button after having changed the simulation from 2D to 3D.
- Inventor crashes after unloading the Flow Design plugin from Tools > Add ins while Flow Design is running. Instead of unloading the Flow Design plugin from Inventor, it is better to open Add/Remove Programs (from Windows), and change the Flow Design installation to remove the Inventor feature.
Standalone
- The simulation of a particular 3DS geometry file results in extremely low drag coefficient values. When the same geometry is imported as a wrapped STL file, the results are more realistic.
- We recommend a three button mouse when using the Mac version. The standard Apple® mouse does not exhibit good scroll and zoom performance in Flow Design, resulting in a delay between mouse navigation and the corresponding on-screen movement.
- If a model cannot be imported or fails during the import process, Flow Design often displays a sphere instead of the model.
- DWG files saved in AutoCAD 2010 format or later do not open into Flow Design successfully.
Flow Boundary Issues
- If the wind tunnel is resized so that it is completely within the model, a crash may occur if you change between 2D and 3D simulation types.
