Ellipses.add Method

Description

Creates a new ellipse in the sketch defined by a center point, a major-axis endpoint, and a point that sets the length of the minor axis. Mirrors the center Ellipse drawing command.

Syntax

"ellipses_var" is a variable referencing an Ellipses object.

returnValue = ellipses_var.add(centerPoint, majorAxisPoint, point)
"ellipses_var" is a variable referencing an Ellipses object.

Return Value

Type Description
Ellipse Returns the newly created Ellipse, or null if the operation failed.

Parameters

Name Type Description
centerPoint Point2D The center point of the ellipse. Coordinates are in drawing length units (millimeters when the drawing standard includes ISO; inches when the standard is ASME without ISO). Build the point with core.Point2D.create(x, y).
majorAxisPoint Point2D An endpoint of the major axis, measured from the center.
point Point2D A point that defines the distance from the center to the end of the minor axis.
